Description	:	Funeral services for Ardys Brumbaugh, 90, of Gregory, So. Dak., were held Saturday, May 21, at the United Methodist Church in Neligh. Pastor Jeff Wallace officiated. A prayer service was held Friday in Gregory. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery at Neligh with the Kouba Funeral Home of Gregory in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Dennis Bligh, Robert Bligh, Evan Bligh, Clyde Brewer, Jack Miller and Dennis Miller. Ardys Jane Bligh, daughter of Willie and Sabina (Thurston) Bligh was born August 13, 1914, at Royal. As she grew up on the farm, she became the care givers for the younger children in the family. She worked for several years as a housekeeper for Eli Griffin and daughter, Joann, on a farm south of Neligh. On December 18, 1956, she married Harold Leroy Brumbaugh at Plainview. The couple made their home on a farm northeast of Neligh for many years. They moved to Gregory, So. Dak. in 1991 to be near Mr. Brumbaugh's children. Some time after her husband's death in 1998, Mrs. Brumbaugh moved to the Rose Manor Care Center in Colome, So. Dak. She died May 18, 2005. Mrs. Brumbaugh was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, Phyllis (Charles) King and Alice (Delmer) Reiss, and seven brothers, Charles, Reece, Paul, David, Allan, George and Albert Bligh. Survivors include five sisters-in-law, Marjorie Bligh of Wessington Springs, So. Dak., Ruth Bligh of Atlanta, Ga., Lola Bligh of Manila, Utah, Edna Bligh of South Sioux City, and Betty Bligh of Omaha, and her stepchildren, Gladys Siewert of Gatesville, Texas, Donald (Bea) Brumbaugh of Gregory, and Merlin (Violet) Brumbaugh of Newport. the above from the Neligh News and Leader (Neligh, Nebraska) newspaper, published on Wednesday, May 25, 2005.
