Description	:	Born as Arien Droeviger Arie Druger died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Ed Talsma Sunday November thirteenth of Bright's disease. He had suffered for several weeks and death came as a relief, Arie Druger was born in Holland June fifteenth 1835 and was therefore seventyfive years, four months and twentynine days old when he died. He came to the United States in 1870 and settled in Sioux county ten years later. He was married in the old country to Miss Florence Cupido. Eighteen children were born to them —nine of whom survive, Mr. Druger was a well known Alton character.... Eighteen children were born to them —nine of whom survive, Mr. Druger was a well known Alton character. He had been a widower for a great many years and after his family was grown he lived by himself. He bought old iron on quite a large scale for a number of years and was known for his honesty — in fact the trouble with the old gentleman was that he paid his customers more than was due them. The funeral was held Tuesday November fifteenth from the home and from the Reformed church of which deceased was a member and was conducted by Rev, J.P. De Jong. Some beautiful floral pieces were in evidence. Interment was made in Nassau cemetery. Deceased is survived by nine children Peter of Dallas South Dakota, Mrs. Ed Talsma of Alton, Albert of Archer, Sip of Carter, Mrs. Julius Stuck of Mitchel South Dakota, William of Orange City, Neil of LeMars, Mrs. Groot of Orange City and Mrs. Huisman of Alton. All the children at tended the funeral with the exception of Mrs. Julius Stuck of Mitchel South Dakota who was unable to come and Sip of Carter who had been here but was called back home last Wednesday. Julius Stuck of Mitchell South Dakota attended the services. Alton Democrat 1910-11-19.
