Description	:	Arland K. Rogers, age 97, of Newark, passed away after a courageous battle with covid-19, on Saturday, July 31, 2021. He was born on September 18, 1923 to the late Harold and Virtue (Shannon) Rogers in Newark, OH. Due to the circumstances surrounding Arland's death, masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged for guests attending services. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Brucker Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, OH. Rogers, age 97, of Newark, passed away after a courageous battle with covid-19, on Saturday, July 31, 2021. He was born on September 18, 1923 to the late Harold and Virtue (Shannon) Rogers in Newark, OH. Due to the circumstances surrounding Arland's death, masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged for guests attending services. Arland will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery next to his wife, where he will receive Military Honors from the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Arland graduated from Newark High School in 1940 and married Hazel M. Wills on March 28, 1944. He proudly served as a member of the US Army during WWII. When Arland home, he returned to his job at Owen's Corning, where he stayed for 42 ½ years before retiring. He also served as a Director at Energy Coop for 39 years, holding the position of Secretary, Treasurer and Chairman of the Board. Arland also served as the President of Oak Hill Cemetery Association. He was a long-time member of Mt. Carmel Christian Union Church, where he held the roles of Elder, Treasurer, and Trustee. Arland was also a 4-H Advisor and a substitute bus driver for Licking Valley School District. His hobbies included woodworking, traveling, and antique cars. Arland is survived by his children, Larry (Blanche) Rogers, Gene (Sandy) Rogers, Carol (Ken) Hall, and Mike (Pam) Rogers; grandchildren, Beverly (Mark Keith) Niccum, Laurie (Patrick) Donley, Brian Rogers, Erin (Joel) Frailey, Christopher (Heather) Rogers, Tasha Bowman, and Kyle, Kevin, Kenneth, Kez, and Karli Hall; great grandchildren, Drew, Kailus, Aine, Josiah, Ellie, Evan, Katarina, Cooper, Allie, Kollin, and Kamden; many nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law and brothers-in-law. In addition to his parents, Arland is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; brothers, Wayne and William Rogers; and sister, Louise Inlow.
