Description	:	Funeral services were held last Friday at First English Lutheran Church for Arleen Johnson, who died on Sept. 22, 2008 at Lennox Good Samaritan Center. Arleen Delores Rask was born on May 20, 1923 near Mandan, ND, the daughter of Axel and Edna (Carlson) Rask. With her eight brothers and two sisters she grew up and attended country school in the Mandan area. Arleen Delores Rask was born on May 20, 1923 near Mandan, ND, the daughter of Axel and Edna (Carlson) Rask. With her eight brothers and two sisters she grew up and attended country school in the Mandan area. The schoolteacher boarded with her family, so Arleen was always on the straight and narrow and a prize pupil. On Aug. 12, 1944 she married Richard G. "Dick" Johnson at Mandan, ND. The couple moved around during the early years of their marriage while Richard was enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge they lived in Mandan, ND and McLaughlin, SD before moving to Lennox in 1959. This began a life-long interest in travel. Arleen had visited or lived in all 50 states. She was employed at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center for over 25 years. Richard died May 14, 1983. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Lennox. She had served on the Lennox Area Ambulance. Arleen loved travel, vegetable and flower gardening and many types of needlework. In addition to her husband and parents, Arleen was preceded in death by a son, Darl, in 2004, an infant daughter in 1960 and eight siblings. Survivors include her six children: Richard W. (Susan) Johnson, Monroe; Twyla (Dale) Lund, Bruce, WI, Leon R. (Donna) Johnson, Piedmont, Rory (Fran) Stenberg, Sioux Falls, NaLeen (Richard) Doll, Aberdeen, and Lonie (Christine) Johnson, Virginia Beach, VA; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings: Leland Rask, Mandan, ND and Ruth Holler, Sioux Falls.
