Description	:	Arleen Louise Steiner Hippen, 83, of Beatrice died at her home on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. She was born to Dorothea (Stake) and Leonard Steiner on October 8, 1931 at their home north of Burchard. She attended Tranquility Rural School through 8th grade, graduated from Lewiston High School in 1949 and then attended Lincoln School of Commerce. She married Clarence Hippen on January 25, 1953 at Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church of rural Steinauer. They farmed near Lewiston until they moved into Beatrice in 2006. She was born to Dorothea (Stake) and Leonard Steiner on October 8, 1931 at their home north of Burchard. She attended Tranquility Rural School through 8th grade, graduated from Lewiston High School in 1949 and then attended Lincoln School of Commerce. She married Clarence Hippen on January 25, 1953 at Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church of rural Steinauer. They farmed near Lewiston until they moved into Beatrice in 2006. Arleen drove the school bus at Lewiston for many years, and was a crop insurance adjustor until pulmonary fibrosis limited her physical activities. Over the years she enjoyed milking cows, raising cattle, attending county fairs, and attending her grandchildren's activities. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Beatrice and the American Legion Auxiliary in Virginia. Survivors include two sons, Dale Hippen and special friend Sheila Deardon of Tecumseh and John Hippen and wife Jackie of Lewiston; two daughters, Dorothy Heidemann and husband Les of Tecumseh and Mary Lenners and husband Stan of Filley; 11 grandchildren, Abby McLennan and husband Brian of Phoenix, AZ, Jesse Hippen and wife Misuzu of Fort Worth, TX, Amanda Lysaught and husband David of Aspen, CO., Becky Weakland and husband Erik of Nebraska City, Rachel Pickering and husband Brian of Crete, Bethany Berg and husband Landon of Fairbury, Brandon Scott and wife Cortney of Gretna, Brian Scott of Killeen, TX, Jamie Scott and fiancé Marcus Rist of Lincoln, Natalie Lenners of Dallas, TX and Blake Lenners of Lincoln; five great-grandchildren, Allie McLennan, Charlie and Sam Scott, Lucy Hippen and Colette Pickering; sister, Carolyn Borcher and husband Stanley of Sterling; brother, Leonard Steiner of Burchard; brother-in-law, Erwin Hippen and wife Pat of Topeka, KS, two sisters-in-law, Laura Mort and husband Kenneth of Pawnee City and Charlene Hippen of Lewiston; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Dorothea Stake Steiner; husband, Clarence who died in 2012; parents-in-law, George and Rebecca Hippen; two sisters-in-law, Irene who died in infancy and Arene Janssen and husband Henry; three brothers-in-law, Herman who died in infancy, Harvey and wife Irene Hippen, and Lorance Hippen. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Pastor William Shaner officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. in the Lewiston Cemetery of Lewiston. A family prayer service will be held at 9:45 A.M. at the church on Saturday. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 12:00 Noon Thursday until 4:00 P.M. Friday. A memorial has been established to the Lewiston Cemetery Directory with Larry and Carol Riens in charge. The family will meet and greet friends and relatives from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
