Description	:	Arlen (Gus) was the son of John and Adeline Rasmussen, Ames. He was the brother of James and Joel of Ames, and a brother to two sisters: Donzetta Rasmussen, Ames and Mrs. Karen Meyer, Story City. He had lived his entire lifetime in the Ames area, graduating from Ames High School. Mr. Rasmussen served in the U.S. Army from 1948 until 1951 and belonged to the American Legion and had served as a past commander of that organization. He belonged to the Painter Union No. 246. He had lived his entire lifetime in the Ames area, graduating from Ames High School. Mr. Rasmussen served in the U.S. Army from 1948 until 1951 and belonged to the American Legion and had served as a past commander of that organization. He belonged to the Painter Union No. 246. He was married to the former Connie Hagen Oct. 31, 1953 at Huxley and they had a daughter, Linda, and two sons, Fred and Arlen Jr. Arlen Rasmussen, just shy of 40, died at Mary Greeley Hospital. The Rev. James Asp of Ascension Lutheran Church officiated at the funeral services . Burial was in Story Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Survivors include his wife and children, all at home; his parents; two brothers and two sisters. Also surviving are these brothers-in-law: Charles Hagen of Lancaster, Calif., Anton O. Hagen of Savage, Minn., and Donald Hagen, with the U.S. Air Force in the Philippines. And sisters-in-law: Mrs. Alberta Kennedy of Kelley and Mrs. Eleanor Olson, Ames.
