Description	:	She was born in Aurora County near Letcher, SD to Torkel and Anna Thompson Asbenson. She was the second oldest of four other sisters and one brother. She spent her early years in Wisconsin. At the age of 12 she moved with her family to the Storla area. In 1932 she graduated from Letcher High School. In March 1936 she married Ernest Thompson and they farmed in the Storla area west of Letcher for 61 years. They raised two sons, Paul and Keith, who farmed with them. She was the second oldest of four other sisters and one brother. She spent her early years in Wisconsin. At the age of 12 she moved with her family to the Storla area. In 1932 she graduated from Letcher High School. In March 1936 she married Ernest Thompson and they farmed in the Storla area west of Letcher for 61 years. They raised two sons, Paul and Keith, who farmed with them. A few years after Ernest died in 1996 she moved to Wesley Acres in Mitchell. In January 2005 she moved to Firesteel Healthcare Center after she developed mobility problems due to arthritis. She was honored to be selected Firesteel Healthcare Center "Resident of the Month" for February 2007. She was a member of Storla Lutheran Church and the Women of the ELCA of rural Letcher. She taught Sunday School for many years and held several offices during that time. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest, sister, Laura Kvigne and brother, Luverne Asbenson. Mrs. Thompson died at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital at age 93.
