Read More	Arlene E. Passmore, 85, died Thursday March 6, 2014, at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice Care at Mercy, Iowa City. Arlene was born November 16, 1928 in Walcott, Iowa the daughter of Roland and Thelma Arp Rochau. She was a graduate of Iowa City High School in the class of 1946. . On March 28, 1948, she was united in marriage to Donald Passmore in Atalissa. She had been employed at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty for 22 years in the Dietary Dept. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Atalissa. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved playing euchre and was known for taking on her grandchildren in a rousing game of cards. Arlene also enjoyed gardening, and baking and was famous for her chicken and noodles, lemon pie and frosted sugar cookies. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, three sisters, Dorothy Spilger, Phyllis Spilger and Bernice Johnson and a brother Donald. Services: 10 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2014, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Atalissa. Visitation: 2-6 p.m., Sunday, March 9, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty.
