Arlene Louise Caroline Buhrow, Waverly, daughter of Henry and Ida Bergmann Buhrow, was born October 23, 1921, in Douglas Township Bremer County, Iowa. She was baptized November 20, 1921 and confirmed April 10, 1936, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Siegel. She attended rural school in Douglas Township. Read More	Arlene L. Buchholz, 90 of Waverly, Iowa, died Monday afternoon, June 18, 2012, at the Waverly Health Center, Waverly, Iowa. Arlene Louise Caroline Buhrow, Waverly, daughter of Henry and Ida Bergmann Buhrow, was born October 23, 1921, in Douglas Township Bremer County, Iowa. She was baptized November 20, 1921 and confirmed April 10, 1936, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Siegel. She attended rural school in Douglas Township. On August 24, 1939, she was united in marriage with Leo Buchholz at St. John's United Church of Christ, Siegel. He preceded her in death in 1994. The couple farmed in the Siegel area until retiring in 1982. Arlene's death occurred June 18, 2012, at Waverly Health Center at the age of 90 years. Arlene was a lifetime member of St. John's UCC, Siegel, where she was a member of the Women's Fellowship. She is survived by three sons, Vernon (Wanda) Buchholz, David (Linda) Buchholz and James Buchholz, all of Waverly; six daughters, Shirley Redies, Mesa, Arizona, Betty (Dave) Nelson, Waverly, Rosalee (Ron) Leuenberger, Sumner, Joann (Darrell) Blasberg, Waverly, Diane (Lyle) Schmit, Peoria, Arizona, Sandra (Gary) Wilkens, Nashua; and a brother George Buhrow, Frederika. Also, twenty-four grandchildren, Steven Redies, Rhonda Redies, Shelly Hill, Jeff Nelson, Jennifer Frohnauer, Troy Buchholz, Teresa Rowland, Tracy Buchholz, Michael Laube, Keith Laube, Tanya Leslie, Matthew Blasberg, Melissa Blasberg, Monica Deets, Mitchell Blasberg, Rachel Armstrong, Rodney Schmit, Stacy Wilkens, Christie Schuchhardt, Wendie Oberle, Beau Buchholz, Brock Buchholz, Dane Buchholz and Miranda Buchholz; and thirty-eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Buchholz in 1957, a son-in-law, Wendell Redies and a brother Stanley Buhrow. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 10:30 am at St. John's United Church of Christ, Siegel rural Waverly with Pastor Eugene Walther officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice of Waverly, St. John's United Church of Christ or Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community
