Description	:	Arleta Idell Butz was born March 27, 1918, to Joseph and Tillie (Hostetler) Zimmerman at Protection, KS and passed away on Feb. 22, 1993 at John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix, AZ at the age of 74 years, 10 months, and 26 days. In her youth she was baptized and was a faithful member of the Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church in Harper until transferring her membership to the Trinity Mennonite Church in Glendale, AZ after moving there. In her youth she was baptized and was a faithful member of the Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church in Harper until transferring her membership to the Trinity Mennonite Church in Glendale, AZ after moving there. She was married to Howard Butz Nov. 30, 1945 in Harper, KS where they made their home for many years. To this union two daughters were born Nancy and Pamela. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her infant twin brother, Ivan. Her husband Howard preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1973. She was an excellent cook and cooked for a number of years at the Grandview School and the Harper Hospital before retiring and moving to Glendale, AZ in 1981 to be close to her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were special to her and she enjoyed babysitting and spending time with them. She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy and her husband, Al, of Glendale, AZ and Pamela and her husband, Allan of Peoria, Arizona. Grandsons, Michael, Matthew, David and graddaughter Dessie. Two brothers: Vernon and his wife Maurine of Harper, Roy of Harper, and three sisters Ellen George of Woodstock, IL., Grace Detweiler and her husband Elmer of Phoenix, AZ, and Frances Zimmerman, of Harper. Funeral services were held at 10 AM Thursday, Feb. 25, 1993 in the Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church at Harper with Rev. Weldon Martens officiating. Merlin Unruh, Barry Bontrager, Emery and Jerry Gerber sang, "What a Friend we have in Jesus," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art." Mrs. Gloria Hostetler was the pianist. Casket bearers were Joe Zimmerman, Verl Zimmerman, Orval Zimmerman, Lloyd Burkholder, Nicholas Berry and Edmond Vickers. Interment was in the Pleasant Valley Mennonite Cemetery. The Elliott Funeral Home in Harper was in charge of arrangements.
