Description	:	Arlin Eugene "Al" Limper, 76, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at the McCook Community Hospital in McCook, Neb. He was born Aug. 31, 1933, at Dodge City to Jesse Edward and Dorothy Jarvis Limper. Mr. Limper grew up on a family farm in Ulysses. He graduated from Ulysses High School in 1951 and began working for the Ulysses Co-op. In 1953, he married Leah Cheek-Jones before entering the U.S. Navy on Nov. 4, 1955. Read More	Arlin Eugene "Al" Limper, 76, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at the McCook Community Hospital in McCook, Neb. He was born Aug. 31, 1933, at Dodge City to Jesse Edward and Dorothy Jarvis Limper. Mr. Limper grew up on a family farm in Ulysses. He graduated from Ulysses High School in 1951 and began working for the Ulysses Co-op. In 1953, he married Leah Cheek-Jones before entering the U.S. Navy on Nov. 4, 1955. He served until Aug. 5, 1957. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Ulysses, where he worked for Hugoton Gas Co. until 1964. He then started his own business, Happy Painters, which he developed into a construction business. In 1976, he came to Trenton, Neb., where he started Al's Marina on Swanson Lake, which he operated for many years, retiring in 1998. On Oct. 8, 1988, he married Donita Daily at Imperial, Neb. He was a lifetime member of the VFW at Trenton and was a Past Master of Ulysses Masonic Lodge 435 A.F. and A.M. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Eric Anderson, and an infant brother, Verlan Rex Limper. He is survived by his wife, Donita Limper, of Trenton; one daughter, Lana Anderson, of Ulysses; one son, Bruce Limper, of Huntersville, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale Limper, of Ulysses; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were at the Church of God in Trenton. Cremation followed the service and inurnment was in the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses. Garden City Telegram 10/24/09
