Born on October 7, 1921 to George and Rosanna Bourque, as one of 14 children, Armand spent his childhood in Waterville playing pond hockey, hunting and fishing. Armand was a proud Marine Corp veteran having fought in the Pacific theater during World War II. After receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1945, he returned home to his family and friends to begin his career at the Hathaway Shirt Co. , where he worked and developed many lasting friendships up to his retirement. Armand loved life, was a loving and devoted husband, a lasting friend to many and always enjoyed a "smile". Mr. Bourque is survived by two sisters, Jackie Charron and Theresa Guite, brother Raymond (John) Bourque, two step daughters, Donna Ward and Jackie Pelletier, granddaughters Debbie Russell and Tammy Knight, grandson Art Ward; his great grandchildren Peter Paradis, Lindsey Troxell, Dustin Ward, Joshua Ward, and Jayden Ward; his great great grandsons; Aiden Troxell, Jaxon Troxell, and Karson Simmons along with many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Woodlands in Waterville for their kindness, compassion, and for going the extra step to assure his comfort during his final days. The family also wishes to thank the staff and nurses of Maine General Hospice. In lieu of flowers and to honor his love of children, memorial donations can be made to Maine Children's Home for Little Wanderers, 93 Silver Street, Waterville, Maine 04901. Burial will be held in the spring. Services are under the care and direction of Veilleux Funeral Home 8 Elm Street Waterville, Maine (www.centralmaine.com 1/15/2015)
