Description	:	Armilda Jane Armstrong was the daughter of Leander and Sarah Mary Sharp Armstrong. She was born in Mahaska County, Iowa on August 8, 1864 and passed away Thursday November 18, 1937 at the home of her daughter, Mrs Clyde Cochran, at Gilman, Iowa after an illness of thirteen weeks. She was married to Moses Gerard on December 5, 1884. He passed away in March of 1934. To this union were born nine children, LeRoy, the oldest, dying in infancy. Mrs. Gerard spent most of her life in Poweshiek county except for seven years in Kansas. She united with the Methodist church in her girlhood and lived an exemplary life and died in the faith that had carried her through many years of life. She was a faithful wife, a kind and loving mother and expressed herself as ready and willing to go at her Master's call. Besides her children she leaves nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Miller of Arlington, CA, and Anna McCarllows of Roseville, CA, and two brothers, George and John Armstrong of Colorado.
