Arminda Woolley moved with her parents from Madison Co., New York, to Whiteside Co., Illinois, in 1853. The first year she taught school in the country districts two terms and a half, but did not continue, as she became homesick and lonesome, as she was but sixteen years of age. Altho Arminda and her future husband lived in the same county and township in New York, they never met until later in Illinois. After their marriage they lived on their own farm in Clyde twp., Whiteside Co., Illinois, until 1869, when they sold their farm and moved to Marshall Co., Iowa, and bought a farm five miles northwest of Gilman, in Greencastle twp. They lived there until the spring of 1887, when they moved to the town of Gilman, and lived there until six weeks before Arminda's death, when they went to the home of their son Pardon in the north part of the county, where she died. [On 29 October 1889, they purchased their son Pardon's interest in the family farm in Greencastle twp. and on 30 Oct. 1889 sold the farm to August Gummert - as of the year 2012, this farm has been in the Gummert Family ever since.] Mr. Head [currently, in 1915] makes his home with his son [Pardon], near Liscomb, Iowa. [He later died there on 15 Dec 1916 of Lobar Pneumonia.] They had five children: 163. -Pardon Head, b. April 17, 1858. 164. -William Fremont Head, b. November 12, 1860. 165. -Henry Ward Head, b.
