He was the son of Urias and the late Mrs. Mailman of Hemford, Nova Scotia, born on February 10th, 1904. He was the son of Urias and the late Mrs. Mailman of Hemford, Nova Scotia, born on February 10th, 1904. The deceased was a most estimable young man and was popular among a large circle of friends and will be greatly missed. For several years he was employed with the Maritime Telegraph and Telephone Company. He is survived by a sorrowing wife and one daughter, Marguerite; father; two sisters, (Leda) Mrs. Cecil Lohnes, Nineveh; Velma of Hemford. Three brothers also survive him: Calvin and Burleigh of the C.N.R. Railway staff of Bridgewater; and Loran of Hemford. On Sunday, May 4th, he was laid to rest in the family lot at Hemford where an exceedingly large assembly gathered to pay their last respects to one who had ever a kindly greeting for everyone. The funeral services were conducted at the house, church, and grave by Rev. Seville, Pastor of the Lutheran Church, Midville, and Rev. Colin MacRae, Pastor of the United Church, New Germany. The Pine Grove and Primrose Lodge, I.O.O.F. attended in a body. The text was taken from St. John, Chapter XI, Verse 25, "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life, he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." Hymns sung were "Nearer My God to Thee," "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," and "A Few More Years Shall Roll." The pallbearers were Garfield Conrad, Willis Veinot, Randolph Veinot, and William Rhyno. Armand Mailman The funeral of the late Armand Mailman was held from his late residence, Simpson's Corner, on Sunday afternoon, May 4th. The deceased, who was 26 years old, was the son of Urias D. Mailman and the late Mrs. Mailman of Hemford. He died at the Dawson Memorial Hospital at Bridgewater on Thursday morning. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. at New Germany. Owing to the large gathering, the service was held in the open air by the Hemford Church. Rev. Seville of the Lutheran Church conducted the service, aassisted by Rev. McRae of the United Church. The members of the I.O.O.F. had charge of the service at the grave. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Nellie Turner, Simpson's Corner; one child, Marguerite; his father; three brothers, Berlin of Bridgewater; Calvin of Lunenburg; Loran at Hemford and two sisters, Leda, Mrs. Cecil Lohnes of Nineveh and Miss Velma of Hemford, also a host of relatives and friends.
