Funeral services were held Monday, September 26, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, rural Wellsburg, with Rev. Bruce Baillie and Rev. Ronald Fisher officiating. Interment was in East Friesland Cemetery, rural Ackley. Arnold was born June 10, 1947, in Eldora, the son of Arend A. and Jennie Sietsema Fisher. He graduated from Steamboat Rock High School in 1966. He was a graduate of Central College in Pella and studied German in Austria for a year. He was associated with Security Insurers of Denver Colorado and was a member of Kiwanis Club of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include a brother, Ronald D. Fisher, of Wellsburg. He was 47. A memorial service is at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 8817 S. Broadway, followed by a celebration of Fisher's life at Mission Trujillo restaurant, 181 Ridge Road, in Littleton. Fisher was born in June 10, 1947, in Steamboat Rock, Iowa. He attended public schools in Steamboat Rock and studied at Central College, in Pella, Iowa. He spent nine months in Austria as part of a student exchange program. In the U.S. Army, Fisher served in Vietnam and received eight medals of honor. He was an avid golfer and was honored by National Hole-In-One Association in 1987 for a hole-in-one at Inverness Golf Club. Fisher was an insurance agent and an underwriter department manager for 22 years. He worked for Allied Insurance Company for 19 years in Des Moines, Iowa, San Diego and Aurora. Most recently, he worked for Security Insurers in Cherry Creek for three years. He was a member of Cherry Creek Kiwanis Club, Cherry Creek Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Home Builders Association and Services Alliance. Survivors include his girlfriend, Lin Duame, a Littleton High School counselor, and her daughter Ashley, both of Highlands Ranch, and brother and sister-in-law Ron and Vivian Fisher of Wellsburg, Iowa. Fisher had many friends in the Littleton area. Memorial contributions may be sent to Arnold Fisher Fund, St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
