Funeral services will be at 10:00am Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the United Methodist Church, Parker with burial in the Hurley Cemetery. Arnold Eli Wollmann was born on June 13, 1928 at home on a farm near Freeman, SD to Paul and Mary (Wipf) Wollmann. He grew up in rural Freeman and then moved to rural Hurley in 1943. Read More	Arnold "Arnie" Wollmann, 83, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be at 10:00am Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the United Methodist Church, Parker with burial in the Hurley Cemetery. Arnold Eli Wollmann was born on June 13, 1928 at home on a farm near Freeman, SD to Paul and Mary (Wipf) Wollmann. He grew up in rural Freeman and then moved to rural Hurley in 1943. He worked on the family farm with his parents and was drafted into the US Army in 1951. After his discharge he moved back to the family farm near Hurley and in 1954 he took over the family farm. On July 28, 1954 he was united in marriage to Clara Deelstra. They farmed near Hurley and he did part time police work, working in Turner County as a County Constable. In 1979 he was hired as Chief of Police for the city of Parker. He retired in 1986 and started farming again. He loved farm auctions, he helped at the Menno Sale Barn as a ring man, and enjoyed restoring old tractors with his grandsons. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Clara: four daughters and their husbands, Marilyn and James Sage, Crofton, NE, Debra and Lee Washington, Sioux Falls, Paula and John Bajelan, Kearney, NE, and Judy and Dean Sturzenbecher, Parker; 14 grandchildren, Ed and wife Tina Sage, Lanna and husband Tony Acuff, Dustin Sage, Amanda Sage, Cody Sturzenbecher, Kyle Sturzenbecher, Derek Washington, Rachel Sage, Jamila Bajelan, Layla Bajelan, Lee Washington, Ahmed Bajelan, Mariam Bajelan and Steve Sage; 6 great grandchildren, Mariah Sage, Nadalee Acuff, Jarrin Sage, Kayden Acuff, Stran Sage, and Halee Acuff; special family members Albert and Andrea Deelstra, Sioux Falls and their children, Troy and Joel Deelstra, Floyd James and Kim Pesicka and children, Platte, SD; a brother, Melvin, Madison, SD; and 6 sisters, Lorrine Brazinski, Schwanee, GA, Lavonne Jensen, Schiller Park, IL, Ardella Ismail, Chicago, IL, Vergene Fletcher, Akron, IA, Verna Morrison, Cottonwood, ID, and Madonna Sparrow, Burbank, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Edna and Erma, and a brother Art.
