Description	:	Arnold Leroy Geiger was born to Peter Geiger and Dora Noel Geiger on July 22, 1922 at Fairmont, and passed away October 31, 2003, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, at the age of 81 years, three months and nine days. Read More	Arnold Leroy Geiger was born to Peter Geiger and Dora Noel Geiger on July 22, 1922 at Fairmont, and passed away October 31, 2003, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, at the age of 81 years, three months and nine days. He was one of six children in the family. He attended country school, St. Stephen's Catholic School and graduated from Exeter High School with the Class of 1940. He was married to Marion Kelly on November 23, 1948 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Exeter. Arnie and Marion were blessed with two children, Nancy and Jay. The family resided on the family farm where Arnie was born and raised. He spent 72 wonderful years on that farm during which time he farmed with his brothers and established his own cattle and hog operations. He retired in 1995, when he and Marion moved to Exeter. Arnie served on the St. Stephen's Church Board and the Exeter Elevator Board many years. He was a charter member of the Exeter Knights of Columbus Council. Arnie's special pride were his seven grandchildren. He enjoyed telling about teaching the older ones how to drive. He had many friends--young and old-and enjoyed visiting with everyone he met. Playing cards was a favorite pastime, and Arnie's hearty laugh endeared him to all he met. Arnie is survived by his wife, Marion; son Jay and wife Diane; daughter Nancy and husband Dale; seven grandchildren, Lindsey, Christopher, Austin and Megan Waldron; and Corey, Kacee and Kayla Geiger; brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond and John; sisters, Genevieve Geiger; Helen Barkmeier and Frances Ekeler. Funeral services were conducted from the St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Exeter on Tuesday, November 4, with Father Kenneth Borowiak officiating. Agnes Anderson accompanied Cantor Chase Becker and the congregation, who sang "Here I Am Lord," "Be not Afraid," "All That I Am," "Only A Shadow," and "On Eagles Wings." Casket bearers were Richard Barkmeier, Kenneth Ekeler, David Geiger, Gerry Geiger, Greg Geiger, James Geiger and Thomas E. Kelly. Interment was in the Exeter Cemetery.
