Description	:	Mr. Arnold Morris, 94, of Rockingham, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and friends, and his faithful canine companion Buddy, on Thursday, May 5, 2016. Born on Feb. 22, 1922 in Russell, Kentucky, Arnold was the youngest of five children of the late William and Ada Morris. Arnold was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Ruth Ormsby Morris, of Rockingham. Read More	Mr. Arnold Morris, 94, of Rockingham, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and friends, and his faithful canine companion Buddy, on Thursday, May 5, 2016. Born on Feb. 22, 1922 in Russell, Kentucky, Arnold was the youngest of five children of the late William and Ada Morris. Arnold was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Ruth Ormsby Morris, of Rockingham. The bond that Arnold and Ruth shared was special and Arnold's family and friends are comforted by the fact that he and Ruth can once again be together. Arnold proudly served in the United States Army during World War II where he took part in the invasion of the Philippines. After his honorable discharge in 1947, he worked for the Seaboard Railroad for 33 years. Arnold was an avid coon hunter and outdoorsman, and he was most happy in the woods with his dogs and his fellow coon hunters. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Leandro and her husband John of Raeford, North Carolina; grandsons, Scott Leandro and his wife Jennifer of Raleigh and Robb Leandro and his wife Jill also of Raleigh. He was blessed with four great-grandchildren, Regan and Tucker Leandro and Juliana and Giselle Leandro. He is also survived by a niece, Ms. Ada Grubb and a nephew, Arthur Morris both of Russell, Kentucky. Arnold loved his family and friends, and he shared a particularly special bond with his grandsons. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Watson-King Funeral Home on 306 E. Franklin St, Rockingham. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Rockingham, 1971 E. Broad Ave., Rockingham, NC 28379 or an animal shelter of your choice. Online condolences may be sent to www.watson-kingfuneralhome.com.
