Born in Bear Point on September 17, 1930, he was the son of the late Herman Lloyd and Rowena (Banks) Shand. Arnold was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Read More	SHAND, Arnold Windburn – 87, of Bear Point, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018, surrounded by his family, at Roseway Hospital. Born in Bear Point on September 17, 1930, he was the son of the late Herman Lloyd and Rowena (Banks) Shand. Arnold was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a quiet man with a dry sense of humor. He left school early to go fishing with his father. Later years he went to Ontario to work on the boats. He worked picking apples in the Valley, he was a fisherman with his own boat and his son Steven, went in the boat with him. After retiring from fishing, he worked for years at Alpheus Halliday Fisheries, where his working career was cut short by a forklift accident in 1990. He enjoyed visiting his buddies, spending time at the wharf, camping at Ellenwood, and spending time at his hunting camp in Clyde. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ida (Clements), his son Steven (Jeanne) Shand, daughters Bonnie Shand, Margaret (Jim) Bullerwell, Cheryl O'Connell, Tracy (Darren) Swimm. Grandchildren: Jackie (Angus) Atwood, Jamie (Whitney)Smith, Patrick (Simona) Sears, Shawn (Melissa) Sears, Joey Kenney, Jason (Jen) Shand, Nathan Shand, Brianna Swimm, Jordan Swimm. Great grandchildren: Tristan, Travis, Jaydon, Raeann, Ocean, Jaymee, Benjie, Amelie, Josie, Bastien, Liam, Kyndal, Jacey, Lanie. Brother Sherman (Maxine) Shand, Nieces: Barbara Jean, Rose, Gail, Sonia. Nephew Justin. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother Aunley, son-in-law Carl, niece Trudy, nephew Gerald. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9, on Monday June 25 in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Barrington. Funeral service will be Tuesday June 26 at 2 p.m. from H.M. Huskilson's Memorial Chapel, Barrington. Pastor Alvin McComiskey officiating. Interment will follow in the Birch Hill Cemetery, Bear Point. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Bear Point Advent Christian Church, Birch Hill Cemetery
