Description	:	Arrema Emily Montague, daughter of George and Margaret Montague, was born June 9, 1855, in Bendora county, Texas. Her parents had migrated as young people with the colony of Latter Day Saints led by Lyman Wight at the scattering from Nauvoo, after the martyrdom of Joseph and Hyrum Smith. Deceased was born during the sojourn in Texas and came north with the group who answered the call to the reorganization, being baptized in her early childhood. She was married to Francis L. Deceased was born during the sojourn in Texas and came north with the group who answered the call to the reorganization, being baptized in her early childhood. She was married to Francis L. Thompson at Moorhead, Iowa, December 25, 1878. To them were born five daughters, two of whom preceded her in death, Edith Lyle, the first born, being taken in infancy, and Ruby G.. the second child, at the age of 16 years. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson lived for a time in Little Sioux, Iowa, and the year 1899 was spent in Arkansas. In 1891 the family moved to Lamoni where they have made their home ever since. Deceased is survived by her husband, three daughters and three grandsons. The daughters are Mrs. Hugh A. Hunt, Rosalie, Neb.; Mrs. James A. Thonuis, Tulsa, Okla.; and Miss Florence of Lamoni. There are also living one brother, J. E. Montague, and four sisters: Mrs. N. E. Kaestner, Mrs. J. E. Wilson, Mrs. A. H. Vredenburg, and Mrs. Hubert Case. Mrs. Thompson was of a very quiet nature, remaining closely in the home, and for this reason was surprised by the many expressions and tokens of friendship which came to her during her illness. She passed peacefully away at her home, January 20, 1927. Funeral services were held from the Brick church Sunday afternoon. W. E. Bayer offering prayer, W. E. Prall preaching the sermon. The A Cappella chorus sang several numbers and George Anway also sang a solo numbers. Out-of-town relatives in attendance at the funeral beside her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. James Thomas, of Tulsa, Okla., were Mrs. J. E.
