Mr. Reinart, 89, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll. Father Timothy Schott will celebrate the Mass. Lector will be Mary Ann Reinart. Gift bearers will be Kay Johnson and Pat Orlner. Eucharistic ministers will be Mary Ann Reinart, Kay Johnson and Joan Trobak. Casket bearers will be Jim Thielen, Dave Greteman, Steve Reinart, Matty Snyder, Tim Snyder and Larry Haubrich. Honorary casket bearers will be Lou Voyles, Wilbur Lappe, Fred Kaus and Neil Trobak. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll with military honors conducted by the Carroll American Legion. Friends may call beginning at 5 p.m. Friday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, where a Christian wake service is planned at 7 p.m. Friday by the parish. A son of Joseph and Katherine (Olbertz) Reinart, he was born July 4, 1913, at Carroll. He spent most of his life in the Carroll community and graduated from Carroll High School. He then attended mechanic school and was employed by Lockhart Motors in Carroll. He was married to Loretta Ferneding June 29, 1942, at St. Mary Church in Storm Lake. Mr. Reinart entered the Army in February 1943 and served in World War II. Following his honorable discharge in March 1946, he managed the Standard Oil Station at the junction of Highways 30 and 71. In 1958 he started Reinart Service in Carroll, a company that specialized in small engine service. He sold the business to Jim Thielen and Mike Mosman in 1975 and the business currently operates as the Iowa Small Engine Center. Mr. Reinart was a member of the St. Lawrence parish and its men's club and the Carroll American Legion. He enjoyed having coffee and visiting with friends. Survivors include four children,Richard Reinart of San Juan Island, Wash., Charlotte Ricke and her husband, Dick, of Omaha, Neb.; Vicki Reinart and her husband, David Engler, of Plymouth, Minn., and Geri Reinart and her husband,Chuck Perrenoud of Edmund,Wash.; two grandchildren; a brother, Gene Reinart of Davenport; and three sisters, Lucille Davis of Omaha, Alita Snyder and her husband, Ed, of Breda and Lucinda Ocken of Plantation, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Loretta Reinart, in July 1995; a brother, Roy Reinart; and two sisters, Isabell Presnell and Vi Schleisman.
