Survivors are: wife, Helen of Aurora; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Sherry Jacobsen of Marquette and Mike and Cindy Jacobsen of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter and son-in-law, Karma and Don Bensen of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Judy and Don Henricksen of Kearney; stepson, Jim Jameson of Beatrice; 13 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ken (Martha) Ortegren and sisters-in-law, Betty Ortegren, Joy Jacobsen, Phyllis Spencer and Shirley Reiter. Art grew up on a farm near Kronborg. He attended school at District 21 and graduated from Marquette High School in 1941. Following his graduation, he worked in Kearney for a short time before his marriage. Art was united in marriage to Doris Ortegren on Dec. 21, 1942, at Kearney. Following their marriage, he farmed near Kronborg until his retirement in 1988. Doris passed away on July 8, 1986. Art was united in marriage to Helen Jameson on Nov. 5, 1988. Art was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kronborg where he was on the church council, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Art also served on the Board of Directors of Bank of Marquette and United Coop. Art loved bowling, ballroom dancing, car shopping and folk dancing. Art was also preceded in death by: parents, brother, Elmer Jacobsen, brothers-in-law, Robert Ortegren, Jim Spencer and Les Reiter, granddaughter, Shelly Jacobsen and grandson, Matt Henricksen. Burial was in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Kronborg, NE. Published in The Grand Island Independent on January 4, 2012
