Edenfield Friends from Arkansas City, Winfield, Oxford and Geuda Springs attended the funeral of Arthur C. Edenfield at the Methodist church in Oxford, 2:30 Monday afternoon, with the pastor of the church, Mr. L.E. Lansdowne, officiating. Burial will be in the Geuda Springs cemetery. Mr. Edenfield, who came with his parents to their farm near Geuda Springs, was united in marriage May 17, 1913 at Wellington. They made their home in Geuda Springs for some time then moved to Wichita and later to Oxford where they lived at the time of his death. He became very ill Wednesday, April 17, and was taken to St. Mary's hospital, Winfield, where he passed away Friday. Survivors are his widow and his brother, Jim, both of Oxford, a nephew of Wichita and friends who regret his passing for "Art" was he was best known possessed a cheerful, friendly manner and if he were your friend you could always depend upon his friendship at all times. He would have been 70 years of age had he lived until Aug. 28. In his early life he was known as a wrestler. (transcribed by Judy Mayfield) April 2022
