His name will be submitted to the next Republican County Convention for the nomination for the office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. Arthur C Lane was born in Altoona, Wilson County, KS, Jan 8, 1871. His parents came to Coffey County when he was but an infant and the balance of his life has been spent here. For the last two years, Mr Lane has had charge of the school in his own district No. 14. In 1894, he attended the spring term of the State Normal at Emporia and in 1896 spent the summer at the Kansas Normal College in Ft Scott. This spring, he is again attending the State Normal at Emporia. For ten years he has been Chorister in the Christian Church and Sunday School of his home church at Pleasant Hill.
