Vaughn, a pioneer resident of Crawford County, died at his home in the east part of Cherokee on Sunday, December 28th, from injuries received in a fall while repairing the roof on his barn on November 7th. He was born in Harvard, Illinois, McClain county. Me. Vaughn was a member of the Methodist church, the Modern Woodmen lodge, the I.O.O.F., the A.T.A. and Rebekahs. He leaves to mourn his departure his widow, Mrs. Theressa Vaughn; three sons, John at the home, Ernest of Cherokee, and Fred of Coffeyville; one daughter, Mrs. C.R. Williams of Coffeyville; one sister, Mrs. Frank Webster of Cherokee; one brother, George Vaughn of Salida, Colo.; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. Roy Sturgell and burial (was) in the Cherokee cemetery. Arthur Vaughn was known to almost everyone in the district as he had taken an active part in church and lodge affairs for many years, and he will be missed by the community.
