Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, and 9 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the church. Mr. Marx died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at his home. And Anne (Tietjens) Marx in Clinton. He married Bonnie Jo Scott on Nov. 22, 1953, in Preston. He was a charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church, where he served as council member, Sunday school teacher and was a past congregational president. He was a 4-H leader for the Goose Lake Junior Feeders 4-H Club for more than 20 years. He also was a member of the Goose Lake Lions Club, Clinton County Cattlemen's Association and Double Antique Car Club. In 1986, he was president of the National Agents Association of Ohio National Life Insurance Co. During his insurance career, he was a member of the million dollar round table. For many years, he was the top sales agent for Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company of Des Moines. He received numerous other honors and awards for his sales and service. Memorials may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church or the Clinton County VNA & Hospice. He was preceded in death by his parents.
