Burial in God's Acres Cemetery. Arthur Dean Schott, son of Fred Louis and Ruth (Entwistle) Schott was born Feb. 15, 1930 at Hawkeye. He died Sunday morning Nov. 3, 1985 in Palmer Memorial Hospital at West Union. He was baptized and confirmed as an adult on Feb. 21, 1955 at the West Clermont Lutheran Church by Rev. Stanley Knudson. Jan 24, 1954 he married Marilyn Wedo at the West Clermont Lutheran Church by Rev. Stanley Knudson. They had 10 children. In 1948 he moved to Clermont where he was employed as a farm laborer. He served in the U.S. Army from, January 1952 until December 1953, which included the Korean conflict. Art had been employed by Clermont Implement until May of 1980. He was preceded in death by his father, two nephews. William Dean Mitts and Dennis Robert Schott and his mother-in-law, Julia Wedo. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn and 5 sons Robert, Daniel and David, all of Clermont; Thomas of Elgin and William at home; five daughters, Margaret, (Mrs. Kenneth Lerch) and Mary, (Mrs. Michael Heller), both of Clermont; Julia (Mrs. Robert Loyd), of Cedar Rapids, Ruth Ellen, (Mrs. Donald Pavlovec) of Ft. Atkinson and Cathryn at home; six grandchildren, Nathan Lerch; Lisa, Nicole and Joshua Heller and Elizabeth and Travis Schott; his mother, Ruth Schott of Clermont; Five brothers, Marvin of Preston, MN; Lawrence of Clermnt, Duane of West Union, Willis of Elgin and Garry of Westby, Wis. and a sister (Mrs. Ernest Helgerson). Arthur was a member of the West Clermont Luthern Church and the Sheehan-Olson American Legion, Post #375 of Clermont. Casket bearers: George, Terry, Kenneth, Troy, Mark and Charles Schott.
