Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. Mr Butts died late Thursday afternoon in a Kingstree hospital where he had been a patient for about two weeks. Mr Butts was born in Georgetown May 20 1858 a son of the late Oliver J Butts and the late Mrs Anna Siau Butts. As his father and his grandfather he was connected with various rice mills in New Orleans which were among the largest in the world at that time. He retired a number of years ago and for some years made his home with Captain Miles S Bellune and with Mrs Bellune at Snow Mill Plantation near here. For the past 18 years he had resided with Mr and Mrs TW Bellune at Andrews. Mr Butts whose wife the former Miss Alice M Mare died number of years ago is survived by several nieces and nephews.
