Mr. Richardson was born July 27, 1921 in Rockingham County, a son of the late Joseph and Nannie Via Richardson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Charlie, Sam, Albert, and Junior (J.L.) Richardson and sisters, Thelma Smith, Mae Carter and Ethel Smith. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Priddy Richardson; sons, Edwin Richardson (Margaret), Donnie Richardson (Sandra); daughter, Linda Russell (Bobby), all of Ellerbe; sister, Doris Priddy (Hassell) of Mayodan; sister-in-law, Ruby Priddy Richardson; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral service was held 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel. Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 340, Ellerbe, N.C. 28338 or to the Ellerbe Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 148, Ellerbe, N.C. 28338. Published in the Danville and Rockingham County on 10/15/2008
