Description	:	Arthur Herman VanKlaveren, 78, died at the Moline Public Hospital Thursday, September 19, where he had been a patient for about a week. He was the son of Theodore and Gertrude Willemsen VanKlaveran and was born April 5, 1890 at Boskoop, Holland and came to the United States in 1903 settling near Pella and he came to Eddyville at the time of his marriage to Nita Blackwood who died in 1929. Survivors include five sons, Henry, Green Rock, Ill., Dean, Cleveland, Ill., Andrew, Baltimore, Md., Arthur J., Cleveland, Ill., Clyde, Oskaloosa; a daughter, Mrs. Darrell (Gertrude) Kershaw, Colona, Ill.; three stepchildren: Wilbur Mooney, Colona, Ill., Herman Mooney, Oskaloosa and Mrs. Marie Pate, Ottumwa; also many grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers: Theodore VanKlaveren, California, Richard, Texas and Henry, Oskaloosa; two sisters: Mrs. Nellie Tennant, California, Mrs. Dena Werner, Washington; his parents, two brothers and a daughter preceded him in death. The Eddyville funeral chapel was in charge of the arrangements. Services were held from the chapel Monday, Sept. 23 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. James Smith, pastor of the Eddyville United Methodist church officiating. Burial was made in the Highland cemetery. –Eddyville Tribune, September 26, 1968.
