Per his wishes, Art died in his home, under the loving care of his son and daughter-in-law, Allen & Shirley, his great-granddaughter, Amy Nowell, and Presentation Hospice. Read More	Additional information provided by Dennis C. Olson Art Storkson, age 93, of New Rockford, ND, died Monday July 23, 2007. Per his wishes, Art died in his home, under the loving care of his son and daughter-in-law, Allen & Shirley, his great-granddaughter, Amy Nowell, and Presentation Hospice. Arthur Oliver Storkson was born January 2, 1914, at the family home in Binford, ND, the son of Samuel and Emma (Olson) Storkson. He attended country school near Binford, and then began farming with his father. In 1936, Art worked on a Civilian Conservation Corps project near Boise, ID, to help support his parents and family at home. He then returned to Binford and the family farm. On June 24, 1942, Art was united in marriage to Florence Nelson at McHenry, ND. Art purchased the family farm, and they farmed there until 1968. That year they also moved to New Rockford. Art then worked at various jobs in town, but mostly as a clerk at Stop N Shop, where he worked for nearly 26 years. Florence Storkson died February 14, 1993. One of Art's favorite hobbies was making and bottling various wines. Art is survived by one son, Allen (Shirley) of New Rockford, ND; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Melvin Larson of Fargo, ND; and a sister-in-law, Ann Storkson of Everett, WA. He was preceded in death by his wife; one brother, Harold; two sisters, Edna Wold and Olga Larson; and one grandson, Keith. Visitation was held Wednesday and Thursday at Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford. A funeral service is set for 10 a.m., Friday, at First Lutheran Church in New Rockford.
