Arthur was born to Gottlieb and Elizabeth (Benz) Reinhardt on July 28, 1928, on the family farm, in Krem, ND. During the depression his family moved from the farm to Hazen, ND. In 1945, at the age of 17, Art joined the Merchant Marines and had the opportunity to "see the world." He was a member of the American Legion Drum and Bugle Corps in Hazen, ND, and also proudly served his country in Korea as a soldier... Read More	Our beloved father, Arthur R. Reinhardt was welcomed into his Heavenly Father's arms on March 18, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Arthur was born to Gottlieb and Elizabeth (Benz) Reinhardt on July 28, 1928, on the family farm, in Krem, ND. During the depression his family moved from the farm to Hazen, ND. In 1945, at the age of 17, Art joined the Merchant Marines and had the opportunity to "see the world." He was a member of the American Legion Drum and Bugle Corps in Hazen, ND, and also proudly served his country in Korea as a soldier in the Army. On March 6th, 1953, Art married the love of his life, Donna Stanley. In 1954, Art and Donna moved from Hazen to Billings, MT where Art worked for Mulvaney Motors. Through the years he also worked for Buckingham Freight and Ringsby United, finally retiring from Garrett Freightlines in 1986. Art had many interests; his hobbies included playing bass guitar, having weekend jam sessions with his good friend, Dick Rasky, and playing billiards on the Elks' Lodge team. Art loved woodworking, and made many treasured items for family and friends; he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and gardening. Pinochle was a favorite activity of both Donna and Art. They were part of a pinochle club, for many years, with people who were lifelong friends. Art and Donna also loved to dance, and spent many Saturday nights at the Elks Club dancing to one of their favorite bands. Art continued dancing through the years, including special moments dancing with his granddaughters, at their weddings. Art was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church since 1955, and once he retired, he would go to the men's breakfast group on Wednesday mornings, which he enjoyed immensely, even getting up early enough to take his turn at cooking, because he enjoyed spending time with other men of faith. Family was of paramount importance to Art. He and Donna raised five children, who gave them 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, with another blessed great-grandchild expected in June. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He worked hard providing for his family and was always loving and supportive of them, putting their needs in front of his own. His love for Donna was unwavering, and was demonstrated as he lovingly cared for her throughout her battle with a chronic, debilitating disease. Art stood firm in his faith and love for his heavenly father, and hence, was the rock his family stood upon. He daily demonstrated what it was to be a man of faith, integrity, and love. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a source of joy, and he stayed busy being a regular cheerleader at all their events. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents-Gottlieb and Elizabeth; brothers-Ted, Reine, Eldor, Darwin; sisters-Olga Meissel, Ella Weidner; his wife-Donna; children-infant daughter, Sandra and sons, Scott and Cary. Arthur is survived by his sister-Elsie Avens; children-Linda Schoneberg (Paul Clark) of Indianapolis, IN; JoAnn Lauwers (Wayne) of Fargo, ND; Greg Reinhardt (Kelly) of Billings; daughters-in-law-Cheryl Reinhardt of Hamilton, OH; Terri Reinhardt of Broadview, MT; 14 grandchildren-Heather Nolan, Nikki Dial (Derrick), Jeremy Schoneberg (Daphne), Matt Lauwers, Brian Lauwers (Sadie), Christine Richardson (Jon), Jason Reinhardt (Becca), Justin Reinhardt(Angie), Jene Reinhardt, Daniel Reinhardt (Laura), Jessica Candelaria (Milton), Angela Carpenter (Trevor), Cole Reinhardt (Shari), Kayla Reinhardt; 19 great-grandchildren, and long-time friend and companion-Connie Rasky.
