Arthur Sumner Lawson, 82, of 328 Hughes avenue, died Saturday at the University hospitals in Iowa City. He had been in ill health for several years, and was taken to the hospital about three days before his death. The son of Louis and Anna Benson Lawson, he was born October 17, in Chicago. He had been a resident of Wapello county for 45 years. He was unmarried. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Charles Turpin, with whom he lived in Ottumwa, Mrs. Clarence McIntire of Capitola, Calif., and Mrs. Daisy Schmidt of Chicago, and a brother, Martin Lawson of Ottumwa. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Reece funeral home, in charge of the Rev. William Simbro, pastor of the Riverview Methodist church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Turpin, Alan Turpin, Wallace Jones, Paul Hart, Owen Myers and Joseph Hall.
