SHELBYVILLE, Missouri, March 1 - The two year old son of Clarence E. Howerton, of this city, who had been sick for some time at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James. Y. Howerton, near Leonard, died at 1 a. m. Iast Sunday and was buried on Monday in the King graveyard. This takes away the last member of the family of Clarence Howerton except himself. His wife died on July 23 last and an infant child died on August 23 last. Mrs. Belle Elgin died Sunday night at home of her daughter, Mrs. Emily Todd, near Shiloh Church north of Bethel, aged 87 years. She was a sister of Mrs. William Glover, of this city, and Mrs. Harriet Irwin, of Clarence, and the mother of five daughters and two sons - Mrs. Frances Neel of Douglass, Nebraska; Mrs. Belle Crutchfleld, Mrs. J. E. Wilson and Mrs. Emily Todd, of Bethel Township; Mrs. W. G. Minick, of this city; Lee Elgin, of Bates County, Missouri, and George Elgin, of Winona, Kansas. James E. Wilson, living northeast of Bethel, died Tuesday from paralysis. He was about 50 years old and was born in this county and lived here all his life. He leaves a wife, and three sons. Mr. Wilson recently sold his farm to John Hawkins and last Monday a public sale of his personal effects was had preparatory to moving to Kansas, where some time ago he purchased 240 acres of land.
