Description	:	Funeral services for Arthur W. Langbein, 68, of Lake View were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 1998, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sac City. Pastor Rick Suggitt officiated. Mr. Langbein passed away in Storm Lake on Wednesday, November 4, 1998. Music was by organist Karen Neitzke and congregational singing. Rose Kreft and Margaret Schramm were in charge of floral arrangements. Pallbearers were Michael Kreft, Ricky Linquist, David Langbein, Brian LaGrange, Bill Riley and Michael Sorensen. Arthur William Langbein was born December 3, 1929, in rural Sac City, the son of William C. and Laura Langbein. He was baptized December 25, 1929, and was confirmed April 15, 1945, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Odebolt, where he also held offices, which included those of elder and chairman of the congregation. He was graduated from Sac City High School He married Janet R. Kreft at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of rural Sac City on March 16, 1956. They lived on a farm near Odebolt before moving to the family farm in 1965. Mr. Langbein earned his living as a farmer, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood Board, Branch 8507. His hobbies included attending auctions, bowling, fishing and watching sports on television. Survivors include his wife, Janet; three daughters: Karla Thornton of Carroll, Nancy Hunziker of Auburn and Laura Heaton of Moville; a son and his wife, Gary and Melissa Langbein of Sac City; 9 grandchildren: Eric, Andy, Jason Nathan and Heidi Hunziker, Holly Heaton and Michael Allner, and Nicole and Brandon Langbein; 2 sisters, Arlene Riley of Sac City and Esther Hokanson of Sac City; a brother-in-law, Robert Kreft of Lytton; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Kreft of Denver, Colo., and 5 nephews and 2 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.
