He was born Aug. 16, 1893 at Alma and has lived in Topeka for 52 years. He was a livestock trainer when he first came to Topeka and later worked for the Santa Fe Railway for 15 years. He retired from the City Water Dept. in December, 1958 after 29 years of service. After retirement, Mr. Loehr became involved in volunteer social work and accumulated 2,300 volunteer hours at Topeka VA Hospital and the Dyer Care Home. he was awarded the 1967 Service to Mankind Award by the Noon Sertoma Club in Topeka. Mr. Loehr was a member of Assumption Church, Knights of Columbus, council 534, where he served as a trustee for 3 terms, and fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He was married to the former Florence Wetzel in alma in 1919. She survives. Other survivors are 15 nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are pending at Brennan Funeral home.
