Fuqua, 79, died at the home of his son, Burn Fuqua, 425 South Webster street, Wednesday at 10:42 p.m. Mr. Fuqua was the son of James and Matilda Fuqua and was born at Farmington, November 28, 1861. He had lived in Ottumwa for the last 45 years. He had been foreman within the city for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co., also had been a one time car inspector for the Milwaukee railroad. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Black of Eldon, Mrs. Myrtle Parcel and Mrs. Maude Mongoven of Ottumwa; sons, Owen, Burn, Martin A., James B. and Clarence Fuqua, all of Ottumwa, and Roy of Chicago; 13 grandchildren; brother, Frank Fuqua of Kansas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie, April 4, 1940, and by infant son and daughter. Services will be Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Johnson's funeral chapel, conducted by A.O. Smith. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery. The body is at the home, 425 South Webster street, and will be returned to the chapel Friday noon.
