The Methodist church here could not begin to accomodate the large crowd that gathered Saturday, November 24, for the 2 p.m. funeral services. Rev. Lisle E. Mewmaw, church pastor, officiated. Pallbearers were members of the Holt county board of supervisors, Frank Crook of Page A Mr. Betenhorst of Stuart, Alex Frickel of Atkinson, Kenneth Barthel of Chambers, Clarence Ernest of O'Neill and Edward N. Flood of O'Neill. Music was furnished by Mrs. Woodrow Gaughenbaugh, Mrs. L. F. Kopecky, Mrs. Walter Ubben, Mrs. Ira Watson and Mrs. James Bridges. Pianist was Mrs. Harvey Tompkins. Burial was in the Scottville cemetery. The remains lay in state at Biglin's chapel on the eve of the funeral and at the church for three hours prior the funeral. The late Arthur Willard Tomlinson was born May 18, 1899, at Mineola, a rural community in northeastern Holt county. He was the son of Henry W. and Lucy V. France Tomlinson, both of whom are longtime residents of O'Neill. On September 10, 1919, at O'Neill he married Mary Marie Schollmeyer. They became the parents of one son, Virgil. The late Mr. Tomlinson spent his entire life in Holt county. He was reared in the Mineola locality and attended rural school there. He moved to the Inman locality in 1932 making his home on a farm southeast of town. he was a member of the Methodist church at Inman. Mr. Tomlinson was elected Second district supervisor in 1952 and was succedssful again in the primary and general election this year. Survivors include; Widow - Mary, son - Virgil of O'Neill; granddaughters, Bonnie and Jackie Tomlinson, both of O'Neill; parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Tomlinson of O'Neill; brothers Glenn of Spencer of Ralph of West Point; sisters Mrs. William (Alice) Turner of chambers; Mrs. Isabelle Bruhn of North Platee; Mrs. James (Mildred) Coventry of Inman.
