Asa Farnum's father Asa Charles was first married with Martha (Abbott) Charles and it is assumed that Martha died before Asa married his 2nd wife. That is, it is assumed that Asa and his first wife were not divorced. Obviously is the gravestone is etched with 1858 as Asa Farnum's birth year, it doesn't agree with information from his death record and does not agree with his 7 month age in the 1860 US Census, that was recorded in Jun 1860. Anyway, I think that he was born in 1859, and that his parents were Asa Charles and Margaret Abbot."
