Rev. Seidel delivered the funeral address, and his remains were laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery. Anson was born January 4th, 1849, in Hancock Co., Ill., and passed away April 3, 1939, at the age of 90 yrs, 2 mos and 29 days. He was ill for about two years and was bedfast most of that time. He moved with his parents by covered wagon to Mills Co., Iowa, when he was two years old. There he grew to manhood and was married to Mary Ann Britain on March 1, 1868. To this union seven children were born. His wife preceded him in death eleven years ago. When a young man, he united with the Christian Church in Eldorado Springs, Missouri. For the past thirty six years he has resided in Burt Co., with the exception of two years spent in Texas. He leaves to mourn his passing, two daughters, Mrs.G.R. Sweet and C.A. Richards, both of Decatur, and Mrs. F.L. Wilbur of Dow City, Iowa, four sons, Frank L. and Leroy, both of Decatur, Arthur of Summerville, Missouri, and Charles of Kearney, Nebraska., two sisters, Mrs. Roxie Overton of Florence, Nebraska, and Ella Morganstern of Auburn, Nebraska, twenty three grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many friends.
