Griffin Succumbs at 87 Asbury Canada Griffin died following a brief illness at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jennie Spalding, Burlingame, at the age of 87 years. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Federated church with Rev. A.A. Van Sickle and F.H. Crook officiating. Burial was in the Burlingame cemetery. Mr. Griffin will be remembered by his family as a kind and loving father, and by all who knew him in this community where he had lived for the past 55 years, as a man of pleasing personality, honest, upright and industrious. He did his full share of the world's work and was the sort of citizen that helps make a good community. He is survived by five sons, William, Clarence and Granville, all of Burlingame, Lawrence of Battle Creek, Mich., and Earl of Osage City; five daughters, Mrs. Jennie Spalding of Burlingame, Mrs. Lenora Stevens and Mrs. Vera Boyer of Battle Crook, Mich., Mrs. Isabelle Parsons of St. Peter, Minn., and Mrs. Harriet Welch of Topeka. Also two sisters, Mrs. Gertie Taylor of Strong City, Kan., and Dorothy Griffin of California, survived as does (sic) 33 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
