Description	:	Aubrey Garland Wright passed away in his home on Friday, July 14, 2017. Aubrey was born in Roseland, Va., in 1936, where he was known as "Boo". He lived in Nelson County until the early 1970's, at which time he moved to Crozet, Va. and has lived there to this day. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Marie Stratton; and his father, Cyrus B. Wright; his stepmother, Elizabeth Loving Wright; his sister, Joan Hable; his aunts, Margie Hill and Margaret Witt; and his first wife, June K. Collins. Aubrey was born in Roseland, Va., in 1936, where he was known as "Boo". He lived in Nelson County until the early 1970's, at which time he moved to Crozet, Va. and has lived there to this day. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Marie Stratton; and his father, Cyrus B. Wright; his stepmother, Elizabeth Loving Wright; his sister, Joan Hable; his aunts, Margie Hill and Margaret Witt; and his first wife, June K. Collins. He is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Dorothy M. Wright; his children, Aubrey Michael Wright and Carol, Timothy R. Wright and Melody, Lynn Marie Wright, and David Lee Gibson and Patty; and his brother, John Wright of Amherst, Va. Aubrey was Pawpaw to sixteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He had six nieces and one nephew. Aubrey was intelligent and a man of many skills. While in Nelson County, he worked as a rigger at Piney River Plant. He worked with the Roseland Rescue Squad and was instrumental in rescue and recovery during the Hurricane Camille disaster. He was lead mechanic at Northside Gulf and specialized in front end alignment. He traveled the east coast and built olympic size swimming pools. He worked for years at Charlottesville Oil. He inspected and repaired large farm silos and later retired as Project Manager of grounds for UVA in 1993. He had a reputation of being a man who had great physical strength. He was tough. He was brave, loved freedom, the constitution, and his country. He served our country honorably in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Massey. Aubrey was an honest man with integrity and noble character. He believed in Jesus, was unselfish and believed in doing what was right even when it wasn't easy. He spent much of his time while disabled praying for those he loved or who had needs. He loved his wife and his children and was a good role model and provider for them. Family will receive guests at Andersons Funeral Home in Crozet on Sunday, July 16, from 6 until 8 p.m. Aubrey will be laid to rest with his family in Jonesboro Baptist Church cemetery in Roseland, Va., on Monday, July 17, 2017, at 2 p.m. (Daily Progress)
