Description	:	Audrey Hafar, longtime Marshalltown resident, musician, and teacher, died on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in Cumming, Georgia. She was 83 years old. Audrey Diane Fink was born on March 10, 1937, the daughter of Walter H. and Valeta (Crowe) Fink in Waterloo, Iowa. Early in life, her father discovered and nurtured her great talent and ear for music and Audrey was busy playing piano all through school at East High. Read More	Audrey Hafar, longtime Marshalltown resident, musician, and teacher, died on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in Cumming, Georgia. She was 83 years old. Audrey Diane Fink was born on March 10, 1937, the daughter of Walter H. and Valeta (Crowe) Fink in Waterloo, Iowa. Early in life, her father discovered and nurtured her great talent and ear for music and Audrey was busy playing piano all through school at East High. She also studied organ at Iowa State Teachers' College and played for services at First Lutheran Church in Waterloo. In 1957, she married Derol W. Hafar and they had three children. After a brief stint in Indianola, the family moved to Marshalltown in 1963. Audrey played for countless musicals and other events at Marshalltown Community Theatre and MCC. She taught piano lessons in her home for over 50 years, reaching a peak of 55 private students per week. In addition, she played the organ for services at St. Paul's Episcopal Church for 37 years, retiring three and a half years ago. She was a very versatile musician, at home playing for church services, musicals, or dinner music at the country club. Audrey was active in Tuesday Musical, the Keyboard Guild, and ran her own business, Nanny Network for many years. She was active in the Big Sisters program, volunteered at Rogers School, and participated in many activities at St Paul's. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her three children, Matthew, of Hong Kong, Kyle, of Rochester, Minnesota, and Maureen (Jeffrey) Farmer of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; grandson Kevin, of St. Charles, Missouri; and sister, Eleanor Gibson, of Arnold, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
