Description	:	Audrey Mae Opitz, 65, Cannon Falls, Minn., died Monday at a Cannon Falls hospital. A memorial service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls. Cremation will take place with burial in the spring in Kenmare. She was born May 22, 1922, in Kenmare to Arthur and Lily Harris. She grew up in Kenmare and began working at the Kenmare hospital as a nurses’ aide. During World War II she was stationed in Seattle where she worked as a welder in the shipyards. She was born May 22, 1922, in Kenmare to Arthur and Lily Harris. She grew up in Kenmare and began working at the Kenmare hospital as a nurses’ aide. She married John Opitz Aug. 20, 1946, in Kenmare. They moved to Minot where she was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper for many years. She later lived in Texas and Portland, Ore., where she was an in-home care worker. She later moved to Cannon Falls. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Cannon Falls. Survivors: husband, Minot; daughters, Sharon Davidson, Cannon Falls, Janice Perry, Tucson, Ariz., Janie Myers, Portland; four grandchildren; brothers, Roger, Garrison, Robert, Billings, Mont.; sister, Carol Butcher, Northbrook, Ill.
