She split her residence between Murphy and Marietta. Prior to North Carolina, she spent 37 winters in Arcadia, Fla. Born Dec. 29, 1924, in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late George and Carrie Randolph Niggemeyer. She was of the Catholic faith and attended St. William Catholic Church in Murphy, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marietta. She was employed at J.C. Penney Co., Parkersburg, W.Va., for 10 years and sold House of Stuart for six years as a manager. For the past 36 years, she owned and operated her own business, C&A Mini Market of Marietta. Audrey enjoyed life and loved everyone. She had lots of friends and never, ever met a “stranger.” Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford A. Parmiter; a daughter, Rosalyn M. O’Connor; a grandson, John David Parmiter; three sisters, Thelma, Agnes and Mary; and her second husband, Hubert Carpenter, who died in 2005.
