She was born Oct. 23, 1937, in Abilene, the daughter of Roy and Madeline (Smith) Schopp. She grew to womanhood in the Talmage community, attended the Talmage schools and graduated from Abilene High School. She married Roscoe Townsend Jr. and they later divorced. She was born Oct. 23, 1937, in Abilene, the daughter of Roy and Madeline (Smith) Schopp. She grew to womanhood in the Talmage community, attended the Talmage schools and graduated from Abilene High School. She married Roscoe Townsend Jr. and they later divorced. She worked for the United Telephone Company until they moved to Kansas City and then for the Duckwall-ALCO Company in the business office for 37 years until retiring in 2005.On May 22, 1992, she married Ezra Clark. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1996. She was a member of the Abilene Elks Lodge, the Newcomers Club and a volunteer at the Memorial Hospital in Abilene. Survivors include her son, Dan Townsend of Saline, Mich.; two grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, with Pastor Lindsey Brummer officiating. Burial will be in the Abilene Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until time of service. The family of Audrey Clark suggests that in lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the Hospice of Dickinson County in her memory. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.
