NYSTROM FUNERAL WAS HELD SUNDAY Services were held at 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Jones funeral home in Boone and at 2:30 o'clock at the Swede Valley Lutheran church south of Ogden, with Rev. Wm. Eldien in charge. A hymn, "Home Eternal," was sung by Mesdames Hattie Shelley and James Nutt of Boone. Scripture reading, prayer and obituary were read by Rev. Eldien. Johnson of Ogden sang, "I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say." The pallbearers were: Walter and Erick Lippert, Arthur Peterson, Ed and Clarence Forster and Raymond Grabaw. The flower committee consisted of Mesdames Edward Nelson, Arvid Sanden and Julia Bergstrom. Intermenet was made at the Swede Valley Cemetery. August Alvin Nystrom, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Nystrom, was born Sept. 21, 1889 and baptized Sept. 23 1889, at Moingona, Ia. He was confirmed here in Swede Valley by Dr. J. A. Holmen, Aug. 7th 1904. In 1906 he removed to Moingona but was received anew here July 25, 1909, and has since been a member of this church. In the year 1912 he pursued studies at the Augustana Business College, Rock Island, Ill., returning in the fall, uniting in marriage to Lucy L. Lindgren, Oct 16, 1912. To this union were born two daughter: Vivian Viola and June Lavonne. Some thirteen years ago the family left our community and located at Boone, Iowa, where members of his family still reside. For some time of late Mr. Nystrom began to lose his otherwise robust strength, and, although the vest best medical care was given him at Boone, Iowa City and Rochester, Minn., no help or cure, only paliatives, for his ailment could be found and so, a little past midnight Thursday, September 26, the silent messenger released his soul and spirit from his withered body. He died in Faith; or forgiven for Christ's sake." He had attained the age of 46 years and 5 days. Among the mourners are, besides his loving daughters, his sisters, Mrs. Gust Johnson, Ogden, Ia., Mrs. Danielson, Sherburn, Minn., Mrs. Youngquist, Des Moines, Ia., Mrs. Erickson, Gowrie, Ia., and several cousins, too many to name, together with a host of friends. A brother, Carl Arthur, died when little more than seven weeks old; a sister, Elida Carolina, six years old, and his little twin sisters, Mathilda Olivia, when only two weeks old. Mr. Nystrom was at his passing still young in years but very old in experience of hardships and suffering. May he rest in peace! from Ogden Reporter 3 Oct 1935
