Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton, with the Revs. Jeffrey Zwack, Jacob Konath and Austin Vetter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at Myers-Weigel Funeral ome,Linton, and will continue at the church one hour before services. A rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. August was born April 21, 1918, on a farm near Strasburg, the son of Romanus ad Ceestine (Braun) Ternes. He attended rural schools near Strasburg. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp. On May 1, 1943, he married Rose Scherr, at Milwaukee, Wis. In 1945 they moved to Braddock where he owned a business. In 1950 they moved into Linton, where they owned several businesses including the Linton Cream Station, Ternes Greenhouse and Linton Tailor Shop. He was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, and an honorary life meber f Knghts of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening and shared the fruit of his labor with others. August was an avid card player and treasured time spent with family and friends. He lived his faith and had a special place in his heart for children. Privileged to have shared his life are his wife, Rose; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Augie and Sandy, Jerry and Joan, all of Bismarck, Mark, Omaha, Neb., and Bryan, Minnetonka, Minn.; five daughters and sons-in-law, Cherlene and George Kelsch, Minot, Patricia and Don Damberger, Lakeville, Minn., Sally and Denny Horner, New Richmond, Wis., Rose and Tom Hunter, Poquoson, Va., and Rhonda and Gordon Schoonover, Bismarck; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Eddie, Newhall, Iowa, and Isadore, Tony and Ray, all of Minneapolis; five sisters, Cecilia Mathern, Buckley, Wash., Sybella Rahrich, Bismarck, Olivia Jangula and Rose Jahner, both of Linton, and Anastasia ""Tess'' Krumm, Fargo.
