Description	:	August Beresheim and his father John were presidents of the Council Bluffs Savings Bank, the oldest bank in Council Bluffs. It was organized in 1870 when the Pacific National Bank firm; of father John, merged with Nathan and General G. M. Dodges's banking firm. John Beresheim was president from 1902 until his death in 1909, when August succeeded him. August built his house on the lot next to the Dodge House at 621 3rd Street. This was the only home of he and his wife, Clara and stayed in the family until the early 1950s.
